The best cards with interest on the balance

Now let's choose the best profitable debit cards in various categories. It is clear that the choice will be quite subjective, because. each situation will have its own solutions, so do not consider this section as a guide to action, but rather as a rough guide.

Card with daily interest calculation

Most often, interest is accrued monthly, less often annually, but it is very rare to find offers with daily accrual. Daily accrual of interest on the balance is carried out, for example, with the Touch Bank card described above, but it is now problematic to acquire it, due to the reorganization of the Touch Bank.

Debit cards with cashback and interest on the balance

This is a fairly popular category, when, in addition to interest, you also receive some funds in the form of cashback, but perhaps the most successful card in this category can be considered VTB Multicard due to the flexible cashback customization.

Free debit cards with interest

Most often, the best income cards are paid, and if they are free, then there are some hidden conditions, such as an irreducible limit. Offers like Rocketbank and Corn cards do not contain such tricks, and therefore are as profitable as possible.

Currency cards with interest on the balance

Most often, interest is charged on a ruble account. But the owners of currency cards will not be deprived, although the interest will be noticeably less. The best option is the Loko-Bank card "Maximum income" with 1% for euros and 1.5% for dollars.

Dollar cards with interest

In fact, a subspecies of the previous category. If you are not interested in the euro, then again, it is most convenient to store dollars on the “Maximum Income” card from Loco-Bank, then they will grow at a rate of 1.5% per annum.

Debit card with the maximum interest on the balance

Who is the leader in terms of interest accrued on the balance? Of course, it all depends on various conditions like monthly expenses. But on average, the leader can be called "Benefit" from Home Credit (if you managed to get it for a promotion with a higher rate) or Tinkoff Black, which is especially profitable as a salary.

Approach the choice of a card carefully, compare conditions and take into account your individual factors.

Many people think that the only real way to get income in a bank is to place their funds in the form of a deposit. However, this is not the case - there are other methods to save and increase your savings.
One of the most interesting, profitable and convenient ways to place money in a bank are debit cards with interest on the balance. With the help of such a tool, you will have access to funds at any time, and at the same time receive a decent income. This article will focus on the features of such cards, their advantages and disadvantages. We will also offer you an overview of the most interesting "plastic" products of Russian banks.

The accrual of interest on the balance automatically makes the debit card an analogue of a traditional deposit with the possibility of replenishment and withdrawal of funds. At the same time, such a product retains all the advantages of "plastic" - ease of use, a variety of methods for replenishing and spending funds, etc. Features of these cards:

 • The interest rate in different banks ranges from 1-2 to 9-10%, today an average of 6-7%. It can be fixed or depend on the fulfillment of certain conditions.
 • Interest is calculated every day on the actual balance of funds in the morning. Thus, if you "zeroed" the card yesterday, then from today until the moment of replenishment, interest will not be charged;
 • Interest is usually paid once a month (or once a quarter). Interest is "attached" to the amount on the card;
 • Debit cards with interest are subject to the terms of the deposit insurance system - that is, in the event of a bank failure, you can get your money back, but not more than 1.4 million rubles;
 • The bank can set a turnover condition on the card - that is, the minimum amount of expenses for the period (usually for a month). If this condition is not met, the service fee may increase, the interest rate on the balance may decrease;
 • The minimum card balance is the amount from which the bank starts accruing interest. If the bank has set a balance of 10 thousand rubles, and at the beginning of the day you have only 9,500 rubles on the card, then no interest is accrued on that day (or a reduced rate is applied). After restoring the amount on the card, the bank resumes paying interest.

A deposit or a debit card with interest on the balance - which is more profitable?

If you have a significant amount of savings, then you are probably thinking about where to invest them in order to save and still receive income. Most people open time deposits in banks, but in recent years a good alternative to traditional deposits has appeared - interest on debit cards. When choosing between these options, experts recommend focusing on “plastic”, pointing to significant advantages:

 • Ease of receiving money. To withdraw part of the deposit (in the event that such a possibility is provided for by the agreement), the client will have to come to the bank branch and write an application. As a result, you spend a lot of time and are limited by the work schedule of the department. To cash out a debit card, it is enough to find a suitable ATM, and you can carry out the operation around the clock on any day of the week. If it is important for you to save your money and earn income, but still have easy access to funds, a debit card with interest is the best solution.
 • Interest rate. As a rule, the interest on deposits with the possibility of partial withdrawal is much lower than on classic term deposits. For debit cards with interest, banks offer very attractive interest rates that can be on par with or even higher than deposit rates.
 • Minimum balance on deposits and debit cards has a different character. In the case of a deposit, you do not have the right to withdraw the amount of the minimum balance, it is, as it were, “frozen” until the end of the contract. Using a debit card, you can withdraw money within the limits of the balance - however, in this case, the bank, in accordance with the tariffs and terms of the agreement, can reduce interest on the card, not charge them, and increase the cost of servicing "plastic". These restrictions will remain in effect until you replenish the card to the required level.
 • Early withdrawal of the entire amount of the deposit automatically transfers it to the "on demand" rate (about 1-2% per annum in different banks). This means that by withdrawing money before the deposit expires, you lose all accrued interest. You can cancel a debit card, keeping the income already accrued for the previous months - however, no interest will be accrued until the minimum balance is restored.

Where can an ordinary person find money?

Thus, in many cases, a debit card may be preferable to a standard deposit. However, when making a final decision, you need to weigh all the pros and cons, taking into account your individual needs.

Next, we will consider the most profitable offers for today on "profitable" debit cards. Note that if you are interested in Sberbank debit cards with interest on the balance or "plastic" of other large banks (VTB 24, Alfa Bank, etc.), then you should not expect high interest rates on these offers. Credit institutions from the TOP, without the need for massive attraction of depositors' funds, usually pursue a conservative policy in the field of deposits and cards.

"Maximum income" and "Simple income" from Loko-Bank

The absolute leader in terms of interest rates among all bank offers is now the Maximum Income card offered by Loko-Bank. Her terms:

 • Card type: VISA/MasterCard Platinum;
 • Service cost: if the conditions for the balance and turnover are met - 0, if not met - 350 rubles per month;
 • Minimum balance: 40 thousand rubles;
 • Turnover condition: monthly spending on the card must be at least 40 thousand rubles;
 • Interest on balance: 10%.

Obviously, the conditions for this card are very attractive, but not every owner of "plastic" has the opportunity to maintain a monthly purchase amount and a minimum balance. For depositors with more modest turnovers on the card, Loko-Bank offers another product - the Simple Income card VISA / MasterCard Gold. Here, the interest on the balance is slightly less - 8% per annum, however, other conditions are reduced - 20 thousand minimum balance and 20 thousand - the amount of monthly purchases. The cost of annual maintenance is calculated in the same way as for the "Maximum income" card.

"Cumulative" card from the Russian Mortgage Bank

Russian Mortgage Bank offers a fairly attractive interest rate product. " Savings card» can be issued in rubles, dollars or euros. Conditions for the "ruble" debit card:

 • Card type: VISA Platinum or MasterCard Gold;
 • Service cost: if the conditions for the balance are met - 0, if the conditions are not met - 79 rubles per month;
 • Minimum balance required for interest accrual: 10 thousand rubles;
 • Turnover condition: for an increased rate in the reporting period, at least one card transaction must be performed, for the basic requirement they are not set;
 • Interest on the balance: base rate 5%, increased rate - 8.5% (applied from 2 months after activation, subject to conditions).

Although this card offers lower interest than " maximum income» from « Loco Bank”, other conditions are more interesting and accessible to most customers. So, the monthly service and the minimum balance on the card is four times less than on the "Maximum Income" - which means that the holder of such plastic will be able to be more free in his expenses, and at the same time receive interest.

"Smart Card" from FC "Opening"

FC " Opening” is perhaps the only one of the “TOP” banks that offers quite attractive conditions for depositors, including bank cards with interest on the balance. The debit Smart Card from Otkritie is a very popular product with thoughtful and very attractive conditions:

 • Card type: VISA Rewards;
 • Service cost: if the conditions for turnover are met - 0, if not met - 299 rubles per month;
 • Minimum balance required for interest accrual: not set;
 • Turnover condition: monthly purchases of 30,000 rubles for free maintenance;
 • Interest on the balance: 7.5% on any amount of the balance.

Thus, " Smart card» provides an opportunity to freely dispose of your funds without restrictions and conditions on the minimum balance. No matter how much money is in your account, the bank will charge interest on them at the rate of 7.5% per annum. At the same time, it is worth paying attention to the fulfillment of the conditions for turnover.

"Debit" from Expert Bank

"Expert Bank" offers a whole line of 5 debit cards of different levels of prestige, united by a fairly high rate on the balance of the deposit. General conditions for the product:

 • Card type: MasterCard of different levels (from Maestro Instant to Platinum);
 • Maintenance cost: depending on the type of card, from 0 to 4500 rubles per year;
 • Minimum balance required for interest accrual: 20,000 rubles;
 • Turnover condition: not set;
 • Interest on the balance: 8% on any amount of the balance.

Debit cards from " Bank Expert" - very interesting suggestion. Such "plastic" does not set limits on the volume of transactions - interest is charged regardless of the intensity of payments. At the same time, for holders of "prestigious" cards, there are additional benefits for commissions for withdrawing funds from ATMs of other banks.

Interest on the card is calculated every day, taking into account the actual balance of funds, and is paid monthly. But it is worth considering - if on some day the amount on the card is less than 20 thousand rubles, then interest is not charged on that day.

conclusions

So, debit cards with interest on the balance are a very attractive offer in the banking services market. Credit institutions offer a fairly high income - up to 7-8% per annum, however, in order to receive it, a number of conditions must be met (including maintaining a certain balance, the level of turnover on the card). If you constantly "reset" the card, then you will not be able to get a high income from it.

At present, it is difficult to find a person who has never dealt with plastic products. This is due to the large functionality of "plastic". After all, it can be used to receive wages and social benefits, make purchases in regular stores and on the Internet, transfer money between accounts. In this material, we will focus on the product of the main bank of Russia - Sberbank. Consider how interest is received on the balance on the Sberbank card, and what is needed to process such plastic.

Who is the Sberbank card for?

This product is relevant for certain categories of citizens. They belong to different segments of the population:

 1. Salary clients of Sberbank. That is, those who receive wages through this financial institution.
 2. Pensioners. This group of people is under the social protection of the state side and can count on receiving a plastic card, which implies additional charges.
 3. Borrowers. The list of Sberbank products includes cards that imply additional interest on the remaining funds.
 4. Socially vulnerable categories. People who receive benefits, financial assistance, scholarships and other payments from the state can make such a card and, keeping money on it, receive additional interest.
 5. The rest of the citizens. If your friends or relatives regularly transfer funds to you, you can apply for a card at Sberbank and conduct secure transactions while receiving additional income.

It should be noted right away that not all categories of citizens can receive additional accruals and bonuses on the card. This is due to the tightened conditions for the provision of cards.

Interest accrual on the card balance can be considered additional passive income

What are the benefits of owning an interest card?

It is no secret to anyone that any card has its pros and cons. The main advantage can be called the issuing bank, because the institution in question is the largest and most reliable in the whole country. Sberbank means many branches and a wide network of branches scattered throughout different cities of Russia. In this regard, any Sberbank card symbolizes reliability and confidence in the future for the client. In addition, there are several other advantages that this plastic has:

 • operational process of registration and receipt of a card in a banking organization;
 • free issue and service support;
 • the possibility of receiving income for the storage of funds on the card;
 • a chance to issue auxiliary card carriers;
 • many additional offers from the issuer;
 • developed a flexible system of discounts when paying for purchases from the company's partners;
 • the possibility of using the card outside of our state;
 • no need to stand in the bank for pensions, benefits and other payments;
 • instant receipt of funds on the card;
 • a simple process of withdrawing funds into cash using ATMs and terminals.

Thus, a card with interest accrual is a great opportunity for its owners, who can not only store funds on it, but also earn money on it.

Not all Sberbank cards are profitable

What opportunities does a card with interest accrue give to a user?

The main opportunity for the owner of "plastic" is to earn money. Moreover, it is absolutely passive, because it does not require your participation. You just need to keep a certain amount of money in the account and ensure its constant replenishment.

The bank will accrue interest on the balance - 3.5% per year.

These accruals are made one-time in a three-month period, so during this time interval you will accumulate an impressive amount.

The card can be used to pay for various purchases and services, so you will not need to withdraw cash from it. But this is a personal matter for each owner. Another plus is that a banking organization called Sberbank does not charge any fees for withdrawing funds into cash. And for cashless payments, the user, in addition, receives bonus points, we are talking about the “thank you” program. The amount of such incentives reaches 10% of the amount that was spent.

It is possible to pay for purchases via the Internet. Especially for these purposes, the bank provides reliable protection of your plastic according to modern 3DS technology. Thanks to this technique, any transactions can be carried out only when transactions are confirmed with a one-time password. This code is sent to the phone that you link to the card when ordering it.

And if you have existing loans from this bank or other organizations, you won't have to leave your home to make your monthly payments. To do this, you just need to register with the bank via the Internet, where any operations can be performed from your computer. Your options are not limited to paying off loans. It includes money transfers, replenishment of the personal phone account, payment of utility bills.

Sberbank stopped accruing interest on some cards

How to get a card with interest

The bank produces many cards, and each of them is issued to certain categories of citizens. Some of the products are intended exclusively for pensioners, some cards are intended for use by corporate or payroll clients, and some of them are suitable only for borrowers. To count on receiving such a “miracle card”, you must follow certain recommendations and comply with the list of conditions put forward by the bank.
It is important to have a permanent registration in the city in which you apply. But this problem disappears on its own, since almost every locality in our country has a branch of Sberbank.
To make plastic, you need to contact the office. You will be consulted by a free manager and asked to provide a passport and, possibly, an supporting document.

Next, you need to fill out an application for this tool. The issuance of cards is carried out within half an hour, if it does not involve personalization of data. If we are talking about a nominal product, it will take several days to receive it.

To avoid the need to visit the bank office multiple times, it is recommended to fill out an application online on the official website of the organization.

After the manager receives your profile, he will contact you by phone, which is indicated in the application, clarify the details and inform you when you should come for the plastic.

Today, Sberbank can safely claim the title of the most reliable and progressive financial institution.

Varieties of cards with interest on the remaining funds

The organization offers a large number of products, the conditions for which are different.

Social card

Its production is available only to persons who receive pensions. The yield of the card is 3.5% per year, payments are made at the end of each month. The interest here is not too high, but if we take into account the fact that pensioners receive a card free of charge, and the rate is charged in any case, then this method of increasing equity capital is relevant.

Social card for benefits

Another category of citizens who can qualify for this plastic is people who receive social benefits in the form of material assistance, subsidies, subsidies, in general, everything that is not a pension. The accrual on such a card was about 1%, although recently, due to changes in banking policy, funds for a plastic product are not accrued. This debit card is beneficial and convenient for receiving benefits, but does not generate income.

Interest is charged on social cards

Cards for ruble accounts

According to the previous conditions of the bank, the owners of such cards could count on accruing up to 1%, but now the requirements have changed, and no interest is charged for owning a banking product. The same applies to the student card, which previously assumed the accrual of 1%.

Personal card

In Sberbank, each client can issue a personal card and credit funds to it, as well as spend them at their own discretion. This "plastic" was charged 0.1%, and now, unfortunately, they are not charged.

Salary product

Salary customers have always been valued at Sberbank, and previously they received 1% per year on a card for storing a certain amount of funds on it. But today, interest is not charged. But the holders of such products can count on optimal lending conditions in a banking organization and receive many benefits from using plastic.

Multicurrency cards

This is the most advanced and profitable offer from Sberbank, which allows you to store and withdraw funds in a specific currency. Previously, 0.25% per annum was accrued on such products, but at present accruals are not expected.

Corporate and business cards

These are deposit cards whose users are enterprises. Banks always meet the needs of such clients and make many interesting and profitable offers.

Thus, we can conclude that at present Sberbank's plastic products practically do not imply interest on the balance of funds. Only pensioners who are holders of a social card can count on help to the main income.

In the process of using a credit card, you can fit into the grace period and not pay interest for using the credit limit. However, this maneuver is not always successful, and it can be difficult for the user to deposit the entire amount spent on time. For these cases, banks allow you to make a minimum payment, which consists of a part of the principal amount spent, interest, commissions (SMS, insurance, card maintenance costs), fines and penalties (in the presence of outstanding debts for previous periods). must be paid by the due date. For the bank, this will serve as proof that the client intends to repay the debt in installments.

The minimum payment date is the same as the grace period end date. The grace period consists of billing and payment periods. In RP, the client makes purchases, and in PP he must return the amount spent. The start and end dates of the grace period may differ not only by banks, but also between customers of the same bank. It depends on the calculation scheme used. Based on this, there are "honest" and "dishonest" grace periods. So, the start date of the grace period can be:

 • Every first day of the month (or other) if the LP is renewable.
 • The date specified in the individual conditions.
 • Card activation date.
 • Date of first purchase, etc.

"Honest" and "unfair" grace period - differences

The essence of the "honest" LP is that for each billing period there is a pay period. For example, RP runs from July 1st to 31st, and PM runs from August 1st to 25th. The amounts spent in July must be paid by August 25, and the amounts spent in August - by September 25, etc.

The essence of the "dishonest" period is that until the debt for the previous period is repaid, a new grace period will not begin. For example, the LP runs from July 1 to August 25. Amounts spent in both July and August must be paid by August 25, so that a new LP begins on September 1.

An example of calculating interest on a credit card.

The calculation is made on the basis of the above calculation schemes, as well as the features of the grace period.

Consider an example with a fair grace period of 55 days that starts on May 1st and runs through June 25th. The interest rate for cash withdrawals is 35%, for non-cash purchases - 30%, the commission for cash withdrawals - 2.9% min. 300 rubles.

Calculate fees for cash withdrawals:

Commission for withdrawal 1 tr. = 1,000 * 2.9% = 29 rubles. =300 r. (minimum)

Withdrawal fee 2 tr. = 2,000 * 2.9% = 58 rubles = 300 rubles. (minimum)

The amount spent during May will be refunded on June 25th. Since the LP does not apply to cash withdrawals, interest will be accrued on this amount for 20 days (from May 10 to May 31):

Interest on 1 tr = 1,000 * 35% * 21 days \ 365 = 20 rubles

If it is not possible to deposit such an amount, then you can make a minimum payment (5%, min. 300 rubles). In this case, interest will also accrue on the purchase amount for 11 days (from May 20 to May 31).

Interest on 3 tr = 3,000 * 11 days * 30% / 365 days = 27 rubles

The total amount to be calculated for May will be:

The amount of debt for May = 4323 rubles + 27 rubles = 4 350 rubles.

Minimum payment of the total debt:

Since the second withdrawal was already in June, you can deposit money until July 25th. The amount will be calculated based on 25 days. (from 5 to 30 June)

Interest from 2 tr. = 2,000 rubles * 35% * 25 days / 365 days = 48 rubles

Consider an example with a "dishonest" grace period with the same conditions.

Let's take into account that the user intends all the money on June 25th. Calculate the amount of interest on the withdrawn amounts:

Amount = 1,000 + 300 rubles + 3,000 + 2,000 + 300 rubles + 44 + 40 = 6,684 rubles

If the user cannot deposit such an amount, then he can pay the minimum payment. In this case, interest is also charged on the purchase amount for 36 days:

Interest on the purchase = 3,000 * 30% * 36 days / 365 = 89 rubles.

Thus, you can independently calculate your expenses and interest payable, or you can use the card statement, which is formed at the end of the billing period, and make payments on it. The statement can be taken at the branch or made in the online bank.

Cards have become an alternative to deposits. They receive a salary, and if the money is in the account, then some banks charge interest on the balance. For example, if you have a card with a yield of 7.5%, then having 100 thousand rubles, in a month the bank will charge 575 rubles. It seems to be a little, but if the same amount is put on a deposit in Sberbank at 4.35%, then the income will be 358 rubles. At the same time, the money on the card is also insured, and if the license is revoked, the state will compensate up to 1.4 million rubles, including interest.

How did you find the cards?

The search for the most profitable offers took place in the top 50 banks by assets as of August 1, 2017. Each bank took only one card with the highest interest on the balance in rubles, provided that 100 thousand rubles were kept on the account. Cards for certain categories of clients (for example, pensioners or students) were not considered. The Sravni.ru calculator acted as a data source. If the profitability of several cards coincided, then they were ranked by the cost of annual maintenance.
